Aaron Patel
iHandal
Aaron is the founder and CEO of iHandal, a turnkey engineering and contracting firm specializing in improving the energy efficiency of commercial and industrial buildings, with a mission to save 2,000,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually over the next decade.
Aaron is a classic engineer-inventor turned businessman. During his International Baccalaureate years, Aaron was intrigued with thermodynamics and heat transfer, spending months researching and learning how to create real-world applications using the knowledge gained. Finding heating costs can account for 20% of the total output cost in energy-intensive sectors like heavy manufacturing, Aaron decided to take over his father’s solar trading business (then called Innohandal Sdn Bhd).
He spun off iHandal in 2009 as an outlet to pursue his passion, providing turnkey solutions on the basis of energy efficiency instead of profit margins. Through iHandal, Aaron sold his own proprietary energy solutions that have enabled his clients to save up to 75% on their energy costs. Focused primarily on the Malaysian hospitality and healthcare sectors, iHandal has completed 60+ major projects in the last six years. Aaron and his team at iHandal have set their eyes on making Malaysia and beyond carbon neutral through their solutions, starting with a lofty target of a reduction of 200,000,000 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide emissions annually from their total installed base by 2030.
Aaron was selected as an Endeavor Entrepreneur in the 69th International Selection Panel, held in Kuala Lumpur from 20-22th February 2017.
