Lee Ching Wei
iMoney
Lee Ching Wei was formerly the Founder and CEO of iMoney, Malaysia’s first financial services comparison portal.
In early 2012, as many Malaysians migrated to Australia, Ching did the reverse: he quit his job, gave up an Australian permanent residency permit and returned home. The idea for iMoney emerged as Ching went from bank to bank, trying to decide where to open a savings account and which credit card to choose. Ching found the process of comparing offerings from different banks difficult, and longed for an easier and more transparent way of selecting the best financial products for himself.
Today, iMoney has garnered over 1.8 million unique visitors a month – a clear market leader in South East Asia, serving more than 50 financial services clients and almost 400 million consumers across Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Singapore. Prior to iMoney, Ching worked in finance as a financial advisor and then an investment consultant, where he advised superannuation/pension fund clients ranging from as small as A$500 million to as large as A$5 billion in size on sophisticated financial matters including asset allocation, fund manager selection and cash flow management.
Ching graduated top of class from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Commerce, and is also a CFA & CAIA Charterholder, two prestigious professional qualifications in the finance field. Ching was selected as the 8th Endeavor Entrepreneur from Malaysia at the 63rd International Selection Panel in Dubai on March 1-3rd, 2016.
