Long Sher-Neng

Long Sher-Neng is the former Chief Financial Officer for TIME Group

Long Sher-Neng has over 25 years of experience in financial management and operations, holding several key senior leadership positions in various industries, including telecommunications, gaming, IT and financial services. He is a professionally qualified accountant by training and am currently an active member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA USA). He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Western Michigan University, USA, with a degree in Bachelor of Business Administration (majoring in Accounting and double minoring in Management and General Business).

Most recently, he was part of the turnaround leadership team who helped to steer TIME dotCom Berhad and its subsidiaries (“TIME Group” or “Group”) through a period of immense uncertainty in 2010, and thereafter, contributed to the Group's continued financial stability and growth. As the Chief Financial Officer ("CFO") of TIME Group, he oversaw all matters pertaining to finance and its related activities during a period which saw the Group’s results turn from red in 2010 into consecutive annual record-breaking profits and growth between the years of 2011 to 2021. During this time, TIME Group had also been involved in multiple merger and acquisition (“M&A”) exercises, in which he was involved. Through these M&A exercises, the Group was able to evolve from being a Malaysian only fixed-line telecommunications company into a one-stop regional telecommunications and data centre provider in the ASEAN region. As the Group’s CFO, he had also helped TIME Group improve its credit rating score from being unrated in 2010 to eventually becoming a AA2 rated company by 2021. This helped to provide the Group with access to cheaper funding options from various financial institutions, as well as, launch a RM1.0 billion Islamic bond (SUKUK) programme in 2015. He had also been nominated by the Malaysian Investor Relations Association (MIRA) for "BEST CFO" in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
