Mitul Lakhani
AIA Group
Mitul Lakhani is the former Director of Strategic Ventures & Corporate Transactions at AIA Group.
Having spent 10 years in investment banking in the UK with a Canadian investment bank and a family office, Mitul moved to Malaysia in May 2011 to join Tune Hotels Group as Group Chief Financial Officer. After four years at Tune Hotels, he went on to join iMoney Group as Group CFO from 2015-2018 and Group CEO from 2018-2020. Following the sale of the iMoney Group in August 2020, Mitul joined a Malaysian VC as head of strategy, focusing on investing in and managing a portfolio of pre-seed and seed stage startups.
He joined AIA Group in July 2021 as Director of Strategic Ventures & Corporate Transactions and is responsible for identifying, engaging, structuring, negotiating, and executing strategic investments and partnerships with tech-led and digital businesses and platforms which are synergistic to AIA’s strategy across the Asia Pacific region.
Mitul graduated with a first-class honours Master of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with Management from Imperial College of Science, Technology & Medicine.
